imec in Leuven, Belgium, is seeking an R&D Engineer in Patterning Materials to advance EUV lithography materials development. You will join the Patterning Materials team within the Advanced Patterning department and work across suppliers and internal teams to drive joint development projects and solve materials challenges in a dynamic, international setting.

Required are a master's degree in a relevant field, hands-on cleanroom experience, and strong communication and project-management skills.

Responsabilités

• Join the EUV Patterning Materials team within the Advanced Patterning department.
• Develop EUV patterning materials and collaborate with suppliers on JDPs (Joint Development Projects).
• Identify issues with materials and processes; propose and evaluate modifications to meet needs.
• Apply formal education and statistical tools to solve problems.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Identify IP opportunities, file disclosures, and contribute to conferences and journals.

R&D Engineer Patterning Materials

What you will do

You will be a member of the (EUV) Patterning Materials team, part of the Advanced Patterning department, responsible for development of EUV patterning materials.

• You will facilitate projects on EUV photoresists and underlayers in collaboration with imec’s patterning material suppliers.
• You will own and drive Joint Development Projects (JDP's) with various material and equipment suppliers to support the Advanced Patterning Process Program needs.
• You will work effectively with material and equipment suppliers to identify issues, propose and evaluate material and process modification to meet their needs and goals.
• You will develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and in-house tools.
• You will travel domestically and/or internationally, as necessary to support job responsibilities.
• You will identify potential intellectual properties (IP) opportunities, file disclosures, give presentations at conferences, and write the articles for scientific and technical journals.

Who you are

• You have a master's degree in Microelectronics, Nanoscience or Nanotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, or Material engineering. A PhD degree is optional.
• You have knowledge of lithography process and materials, and experience of working in a cleanroom environment.
• You are hands-on and willing to work in the cleanroom on a regular basis.
• You have outstanding communication skills to work successfully in an international dynamic team environment.
• You have good networking skills.
• You are willing to share your knowledge with our partners.
• You are an enthusiastic entrepreneur and you enjoy pioneering work.
• You have technical problem-solving skills and should be able to multitask.
