Qplox engineering is seeking a passionate R&D Engineer to support development of next-generation thin film devices at our Leuven, Belgium site. You will assist in process runs, optimize deposition steps (spin-coating, PVD, CVD, ALD), and characterize layers and devices while maintaining thorough documentation.

Requirements include a Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, hands-on thin film processing experience, strong teamwork, and fluency in English for our international team.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with thin film processing and characterization methods (optical, microscopic, and morphological).
  • Team-oriented, with strong organizational skills to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory setting with safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) due to the international work environment.

Our client’s Exploratory Lab is looking for a passionate R&D Engineer to support the development of next-generation thin film devices. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to advanced research projects in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the execution and follow-up of process runs under the supervision of project leaders or senior scientists.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to optimize results.
  • Perform deposition of thin films from both solution and vacuum processes, using techniques such as spin-coating, physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and atomic layer deposition (ALD).
  • Conduct physical, optical, and morphological characterization of deposited layers and fabricated devices.
  • Document findings and progress through consistent, rigorous reporting.

Location: Leuven, Belgium

Required Skills and Qualifications
