SCREEN SPE Germany GmbH, as part of SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions, seeks an R&D Database & AI Application Engineer. Hybrid work in Europe, combining database development, secure data integration, and AI application deployment for semiconductor processes and equipment.

The role crosses data management, software development and AI, collaborating with international R&D teams to deliver practical, scalable solutions and contribute to publications or patents when possible.

Competenze

• Candidates have practical experience with at least one database management system (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server or Azure SQL Database).
• Basic knowledge of ETL concepts, data modelling and DB performance.
• Experience with software architecture is a plus.
• Proficiency in container technologies (Docker or Apptainer).
• Programming/scripting skills in Python, Java, C++, C#, Shell or similar.
• Familiarity with GitHub for collaborative development.
• Solid understanding of ML fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised, classification/regression).
• Interest in AI and data-driven solutions, incl. emerging tech like large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with Python libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn); PyTorch/TensorFlow is a plus.

• Design and develop ETL pipelines integrating multimodal data (process, equipment, log).
• Develop secure data integration across SCREEN sites.
• Deploy reliable, scalable ETL solutions on existing platforms.
• Collaborate with R&D to integrate data into simulations, models and AI apps.

• Transform R&D code into user-friendly internal tools.
• Explore AI technologies for industrial applications.
• Develop, train and validate AI models for process/equipment control.
• Work on classification, regression, fault detection and predictive maintenance.
