Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, or related field.
• Proven experience leading technical teams within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong expertise in analytical techniques (HPLC/UPLC, GC, NMR, atomic absorption).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

We are looking for a Quality Control Team Leader who is people-oriented, quality-driven, and proactive to join our Quality Control team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium.

About the role

As a QC P&RM Team Leader, you will lead a team of laboratory technicians supporting analytical testing activities for Pharmaceutics & Raw Materials products. You will ensure high-quality physical-chemical analyses, support Phase III and commercial products, coordinate New Product Introductions (NPI), and drive operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in delivering reliable analytical results while developing your team and fostering a strong safety and quality culture.

Who you will work with

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary network including Quality Control teams, Pharmaceutics & Raw Materials laboratories, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Development, Metrology, HSE, Human Resources, and Centers of Expertise. You will also collaborate with colleagues across UCB sites to ensure successful project execution, compliance, and product lifecycle support.

• You will lead, coach, and develop laboratory technicians while fostering engagement, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• You will ensure timely analytical testing, double-check activities, and operational planning aligned with business priorities.
• You will coordinate New Product Introductions from analytical, administrative, and logistical perspectives.
• You will drive compliance with GMP, HSE, quality standards, and evolving regulatory requirements.
• You will monitor KPIs, oversee investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• You will champion continuous improvement initiatives and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships.

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
• Proven experience leading technical teams within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong expertise in analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, NMR, atomic absorption, and pharmacopeial testing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, resources, and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, coaching, stakeholder management, and change management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, investigation, operational excellence, and compliance mindset.
