Thales Belgium is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our DIS team in Belgium. You will design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using Python and Django, build backend services and APIs, and participate in the full software development lifecycle in a security-focused environment.

You will work with Django REST Framework, OpenAPI tooling, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Docker, and Linux, contributing to secure, scalable software and CI/CD practices within an Agile team.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python programming experience.
• Proven backend development with Django.
• Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF) and OpenAPI/schema tooling.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Comfortable Linux (bash, troubleshooting).
• GIT and collaboration workflows.
• Awareness of linting tools (Ruff, Flake8).
• Knowledge of testing principles and Agile/Scrum practices.

• Participate in all phases of the SDLC from requirements to deployment.
