Devoteam Creative Tech in Belgium is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design and build robust web applications and back-end services. This AI-augmented role requires you to actively use AI tools and integrate AI-powered features within Python applications.

You will work with cross-functional teams on cloud-native projects, leverage frameworks like Django/Flask/FastAPI, and help shape scalable architectures while guiding junior developers and communicating with clients.

About the Role

As a Senior Python Developer at Devoteam Creative Tech, you will take on a prominent role in designing and developing robust, scalable web applications and back-end systems. This is an AI Augmented position: you are expected to actively use AI tools and techniques in your daily workflow — from AI-assisted coding to building AI-powered features and integrations.

Mission

• Take on a prominent role in the architecture and design of web solutions, with a focus on clean, maintainable, and scalable Python codebases.
• Work with the wider development team to scope out and develop new web applications and back-end services.
• Develop flexible and well-structured back-end architectures using Python frameworks and cloud services.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation workflows.
• Design and implement AI-powered features — including LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, conversational AI interfaces, and intelligent automation.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality code.
• Help identify, elevate, and resolve technical issues and problems that may occur.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Technical Requirements :

Python & Frameworks

• Python Core Concepts — object-oriented programming, functional programming, data structures, and async patterns.
• Web Frameworks — Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• REST API Development — Django REST Framework, Flask-RESTful, or FastAPI.

Data & Infrastructure

• Databases & ORMs — SQL, ORM libraries (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, or Peewee).
• Version Control — Git and collaborative development workflows.

Quality & Security

• Testing Frameworks — pytest, unittest, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Security Best Practices — authentication (OAuth2, JWT), authorization, and secure coding principles.
• Web Services — REST, GraphQL, and related technologies (JSON, XML, Protocol Buffers).
• Performance & Scalability — optimizing performance and scalability of back-end systems.

AI Skills :

• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Antigravity, Google Gemini, Claude, or similar) integrated into your daily development workflow.
• Practical understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI) into Python applications.
• Experience with prompt engineering techniques and building LLM‑powered features (chatbots, content generation, data extraction, summarization).
• Familiarity with Python AI/ML libraries and frameworks: LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns and vector databases (ChromaDB, Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
• Awareness of responsible AI principles: bias mitigation, data privacy, and ethical AI use.

Assets (Nice to Have)

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience building AI agents or multi-agent systems (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and model serving/deployment.
• Experience with front-end development in React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of software architecture principles: Clean Architecture, Microservices, Event-Driven, CQRS.
