Pauwels Consulting is looking for an experienced Project Manager for large-scale CAPEX investments in the process industry. You will take full owner-side accountability from pre-study to commissioning and handover, leading cross-disciplinary teams and steering EPCM contractors.

As a senior PM, you will define business cases, manage budgets, and maintain MS Project-based schedules, ensuring safety and on-time delivery. Dutch and English fluency are required, PMP/Prince2/IPMA are nice-to-have.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in industrial engineering, including 10+ years owner-side PM.
• 3 CAPEX projects of €5+ million in the process industry in the last decade.
• Experience steering EPCM or EPC contractors and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in planning and project ownership using MS Project.
• VCA-VOL certification; strong leadership and communication skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end industrial CAPEX projects from concept to handover.
• Steer external engineering firms and EPCM partners by challenging designs, estimates, and schedules.
• Define and manage project scope, business cases, and investment requests, including full budget accountability and forecasting.
• Develop and maintain integrated baseline planning in MS Project, including shutdown and tie-in windows.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across process, mechanical, piping, electrical, automation, and civil engineering disciplines.
• Manage risks and deviations on scope, budget, and schedule with timely escalation and proposed solutions.
• Drive a strong safety culture during engineering and execution phases within an operating plant environment.

Our client, a leading player in the process and materials technology industry, is seeking an expert for large-scale industrial investments. The project involves full owner-side accountability for complex CAPEX investments, covering the entire lifecycle from pre-study to commissioning and handover.

• Lead end-to-end industrial CAPEX projects from concept and feasibility through to commissioning and handover.


• Steer external engineering firms and EPCM partners by challenging designs, estimates, and schedules to ensure commitment.


• Define and manage project scope, business cases, and investment requests, including full budget accountability and forecasting.


• Develop and maintain integrated baseline planning in MS Project, including shutdown and tie-in windows.


• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across process, mechanical, piping, electrical, automation, and civil engineering disciplines.


• Manage risks and deviations on scope, budget, and schedule with timely escalation and proposed solutions.


• Drive a strong safety culture during engineering and execution phases within an operating plant environment.

• You have a Master's degree in engineering or an equivalent level through experience.


• You bring 15+ years of experience in industrial engineering, including 10+ years as an owner-side Project Manager.


• You have successfully completed at least 3 CAPEX projects of €5+ million in the process industry within the last decade.


• You possess experience steering EPCM or EPC contractors and leading multidisciplinary teams.


• You're proficient in planning and project ownership using MS Project.


• You have a VCA-VOL certification and possess strong leadership and communication skills.


• You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Haves

• Possession of a PMP, Prince2, or IPMA certification.
