Clinisys in Ghent, Belgium seeks an experienced LIS/LIMS implementation specialist to install, configure and integrate laboratory software within customer workflows, delivering end-to-end LIS projects and acting as a trusted technical contact.

You will work with project managers, identify risks, document plans, support AI-enabled data workflows, and train customers on system usage. Fluency in Dutch and English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field or IT training with medical lab process experience.
  • Experience implementing LIS/LIMS systems with strong lab process understanding.
  • Familiarity with HL7, ASTM, IHE standards and IT applications.

Job Description
  • Install and configure laboratory software systems
  • Integrate software into laboratory workflows, including mapping daily processes
  • Deliver and implement Laboratory Information System (LIS) projects
  • Act as a subject matter expert within your field
  • Serve as a trusted technical contact for customers during projects and assignments
  • Support the adoption of emerging technologies, including data-driven and AI-enabled solutions
  • Identify opportunities to optimise laboratory workflows and system performance
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Project Manager or Customer Services Manager and follow their guidance and planning.
  • Make proposals and identify technical risks, including those related to data integrity and AI-enabled functionalities, and communicate them clearly.
  • Prepare execution plans and relevant documentation.
  • Ensure all work is properly documented in internal systems (projects and aftersales).
  • Deliver assigned tasks according to project plan, budget, and quality standards.
  • Take full responsibility for all technical aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about progress and risks.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and support on-site customer implementations.
  • Manage and implement small projects or sub-projects.
  • Deliver customer training, including guidance on system data usage and reporting capabilities.
  • Act as interface between customer and development teams.
  • Organize and execute internal and external project handovers.
  • Perform update and upgrade projects
Support
  • Support the department in coordination with the Customer Services Manager
  • Provide technical input to Sales for quotations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for automation, advanced analytics, and AI-driven optimisation in laboratory workflows and system usage
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Alternatively: IT technical training with experience in medical laboratory processes
  • Experience in implementation of LIS / LIMS systems; strong understanding of laboratory processes and organization
  • Knowledge of common IT applications
  • Experience with: Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) / LIMS, Healthcare communication standards (HL7, ASTM, IHE)
  • Operating systems, networking, virtualization
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (French is an asset)
AI / Data & Digital Skills
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in healthcare or laboratory environments.
  • Ability to work with data flows, data quality, and structured datasets within LIS/LIMS systems.
  • Awareness of AI-driven solutions in diagnostics, workflow optimization, or decision support systems.
  • Familiarity with data analytics or reporting tools (e.g., dashboards, data extraction, basic analysis) is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret data outputs and translate insights into practical recommendations for customers.
  • Understanding of data privacy, governance, and ethical considerations related to AI in healthcare environments.

This role requires a working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and the ability to leverage them to improve processes and outcomes. A core understanding of AI concepts is required and the candidate must be able to demonstrate the use of AI tools in a professional setting.

Salary

€48,223 - €60,279 - €72,335 (per annum, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications)
