In4Matic in Belgium seeks an experienced Programming Specialist to manage OpenVMS systems in a demanding on‑premise environment. The role focuses on stability, security, automation, and modernization within a broader transformation program to decommission legacy platforms.

You will operate, maintain, and evolve OpenVMS platforms, contribute to migration initiatives, and work with CockpitMgr and advanced tooling to support critical business applications in government and public transport sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience with OpenVMS systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in OpenVMS support, administration, and programming.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with OpenVMS platform migrations, including x86 migrations.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with OpenVMS CockpitMgr.
• Strong expertise in OpenVMS operations, including kernel management, layered products, applications, and infrastructure.
• Proven experience with automation, monitoring, system notifications, and operational optimization.
• Strong knowledge of security management, performance optimization, backup strategies, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with OpenVMS upgrades, patch management, and validation processes.
• Experience working in governmental organizations and/or public transport environments.
• Previous involvement in pre-sales and/or marketing activities related to OpenVMS solutions is considered an asset.

You will contribute to the stability, security, automation, and modernization of essential applications while supporting platform evolution and migration initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work on a business-critical application that is part of a broader transformation program aimed at the future decommissioning and replacement of legacy systems.

Required Profile

The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex OpenVMS environments and supporting critical applications in large organizations.

You bring:

• Minimum 5 years of experience with OpenVMS platform migrations, including x86 migrations.
