Vrije Universiteit Brussel invites applications for a part-time professorship (0.1 FTE) in the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Applied Physics and Photonics, based at Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene).

The successful candidate will teach Master courses in Photonics (Optical Sensors) and conduct high-impact research within Brussels Photonics (B-PHOT), supervise PhD students and attract national and European funding, contributing to governance and outreach.

Qualifications

• PhD awarded on the basis of an original thesis.

Responsibilities

• Teach Master courses in Photonics, incl. Optical Sensors.
• Perform research with Brussels Photonics (B-PHOT) and publish in international journals.
• Supervise PhD students and attract national/international funding.
• Contribute to departmental governance and outreach activities.
