Job summary

KU Leuven seeks an accomplished researcher to lead a research programme on reuse of structural materials and components within circular construction. You will teach at the Faculty of Engineering Technology, Campus De Nayer, and collaborate with industry to drive innovation and standardization.

The role requires a strong research record, a PhD, and the ability to develop international collaborations, while teaching in Dutch or English as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent, and a PhD with a research background that aligns with the research field of this vacancy.
• Industrial experience or an extended network in the relevant industrial sector is an important advantage.
• Teaching experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop an international research programme on design principles for reuse of structural materials and components.
• Provide high-quality education for bachelor and master students in building materials, structural mechanics, and sustainable design.
• Build international partnerships with academia and industry to enable innovation and knowledge transfer.
• Lead a network of companies to valorize research results and support technology transfer.
• Acquire competitive funding from government or industry.
