Job summary

KU Leuven invites applications for a full-time academic vacancy at Campus De Nayer, Sint-Katelijne-Waver, in circular construction and reuse of structural components. The appointee will lead international research on design principles for reused materials and provide teaching in Dutch bachelor and master programmes from the start.

We value industrial collaboration, evidence of leadership and a track record in publications, and the ability to secure research funding.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience is an advantage.
• Leadership and teamwork in university or industry contexts.
• Strong organisational and project-management skills.
• Excellent command of English; Dutch proficiency at CEFR C1 to teach in Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality education for bachelor and master students in building materials, structural mechanics, and sustainable design.
• Lead an international research program on reuse of structural materials and components.
• Engage with industry partners and networks to promote valorisation and technology transfer.
• Seek and secure competitive research funding and contribute to the faculty's educational projects.
