Overview

Our client, a well-established player in the heavy industrial machinery sector, is currently looking for a dedicated and hands-on Production Manager to lead one of their key manufacturing units located in Antwerp Zuid. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the daily coordination of the production floor, with a focus on operational efficiency, team development, and safety.

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising the manufacturing of large-scale mechanical components according to production planning, safety standards, and customer specifications.
• Managing and mentoring a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators (100 FTEs).
• Driving continuous improvement projects in collaboration with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
• Developing and enforcing strict HSE compliance and cultivating a safety-first culture on the shopfloor.
• Reporting operational KPIs and contributing to strategic planning alongside the site management.

About you

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position within a heavy industry or mechanical production environment.
• Strong people management and team development skills.
• Strong knowledge of shopfloor operations, planning, and production workflows.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and production monitoring tools.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; German is a plus.
• Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication and coaching skills.
