Datashift is seeking a skilled Product Owner to lead our data governance products. You will define vision and strategy, manage backlogs, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, while collaborating with IT, legal, and business units to drive adoption.

You will implement governance frameworks, ensure data quality and security, and lead data stewardship initiatives across the organization. Excellent communication and leadership are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data governance or data management.
• Proven product owner or project management experience in a data-centric environment.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies and best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

To further grow our data governance practice, we are currently looking for a skilled Product Owner.

Your Responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data governance products and solutions.
• Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define use cases, and translate business needs into actionable tasks.
• Data Governance Implementation:
  • Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security through consistent monitoring and improvement practices.
  • Oversee the implementation of data stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to ensure successful adoption of data governance practices.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between data owners, data stewards, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on data governance activities, progress, and performance metrics to senior management.
• Project Management:
  • Manage data governance projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with data governance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed.
• Training and Support:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data governance principles and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to data stewards and other stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of data governance and accountability throughout the organization.

Your Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager, or similar role, preferably within a data-centric environment.
• Strong understanding and interest of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Purview).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Master’s degree in the field of Informatics, Business Economics, Civil Engineering or Information Management.
• Fluent in English and French/Dutch.
