Job summary

Materialise Medical is seeking a Product Development Engineer to turn ideas into market-ready medical devices. You will gather product needs and translate them into verifiable requirements, exploring design solutions and optimizing them through safety and performance verification testing.

You will work with surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver fully validated products ready for market launch. A Master’s degree and strong 3D modeling skills are essential, with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Product Design).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established frameworks.
• Creative while adhering to processes; analytical and curious mindset.
• Subject matter expert capable of advising multiple teams.
• Proficient in 3D modeling and able to think in 3D.
• Project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects.
• Fundamental understanding of anatomy.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Define development project scopes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Improve existing medical devices and related documentation.
• Perform verification testing of product performance and safety requirements.
• Perform validation testing of product needs.
• Report and document in line with medical device standards and internal procedures.
• Transfer content to teams further along in the process (process engineering, regulatory).
• Actively contribute to regulatory submissions as a product specialist.
• Identify opportunities for new medical device applications and technologies.
• Translate medical device ideas into future development projects.
