ALTEN Belgium is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Herstal to own the design and drafting of precision-mechanics parts. You will produce complete drawing packages and dimensioning, and maintain product definitions for in-service items.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers to refine architecture, design tooling for higher production, and manage revisions in the PLM system with a strong focus on manufacturability and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or graduate-level qualification in mechanical design, drawing or precision mechanics.
• Around 3 years of experience designing precision-mechanics parts.
• Rigorous background in aerospace, defence, medical or precision mechanics.
• Solid command of dimensioning and drawing conventions: tolerancing, GD&T, fits, surface treatments.
• Proficiency with CREO or another strong CAD tool and willingness to train in CREO.

Responsabilités

• Design mechanical parts and assemblies of precision-mechanics scale.
• Produce the drawing package: dimensioning, tolerancing, materials and surface treatments.
• Maintain and update the product definition file on products already in service.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on architecture and inputs.
• Design tooling and jigs as production grows.
• Handle drawings and revisions in PLM and discuss manufacturability with machinists, production and suppliers.
