Thales in Herstal, Belgium, seeks a mechanically minded draftsman to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for multiple product lines. You will create Creo models and Windchill drawings, following general design rules and tolerancing practices.

With a bachelor in mechanical engineering and 3–5 years of drafting experience, you will transform rough sketches into working documents, align files, and support design engineers to meet deadlines. French and English fluency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; 3–5 years of drafting experience.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill is mandatory.
• Fluent in French and proficient in English.
• Preferably living within 45 minutes of Herstal.
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace or Automotive industry is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Providing 3D models and 2D drawings according to general design rules (tolerances, material indicators, etc.).
• Transforms rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents.
• Utilizes machining technologies, engineering best practices, mathematics, and materials to complete drawings.
• Performs minor design updates or changes to existing models or drawings.
• Maintains/adapts relationships of models and drawing files in an organized fashion.
• Aligns the development of 2D and 3D drawings with the design engineering lead.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing detailed drawings and assembly drawings 3D modeling
• Creates 3D in Creo and 2D drawings in windchill for multiple product lines
• Providing 3D models and 2D DRW’s according the general design rules (e.g; form & place tolerances, material indications, …)
• Transforms initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents
• Utilizes knowledge of various machining technologies, engineering best practices, mathematics, materials, … to complete drawings
• Perform minor design updates or any necessary changes to existing models or drawings
• Maintains/ adapts relationships of models and drawing files in an organized fashion
• Aligns the development of 2D and 3D drawings with the design engineering lead

Profile

• You have a bachelor degree, domain of mechanical engineering, with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a draftsman role
• Preferably you live in a range of 45 min from the site of Herstal
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace or Automotive industry is a plus
• Experience with Creo and Windchill is mandatory
• Self-motivated, taking ownership and driving topics to fulfill your deadlines
• You are a team player, good interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in French and proficient in English
