Magnax in Belgium is seeking a Power Electronics and Motor Control Engineer to join our R&D team in Kortrijk. You will design high-efficiency power electronic circuits and motor controllers for yokeless axial flux motors, lead simulations, testing, and validation, and work with cross-functional teams.

You have a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years in power electronics, inverter design and PCB tools; English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power electronics and circuit design.
• Strong knowledge of inverters and motor controllers.
• Experience with PCB design tools such as KiCad or Altium.
• Experience with circuit simulation software such as LTSpice.
• Understanding of thermal management and EMC.
• Model-based design and/or FPGA platform experience is a plus.
• A team player with proactive problem-solving and English fluency.

About the role

This is what you’ll do:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and optimize high-efficiency power electronic & motor control systems.
• Create detailed requirements and functional designs for power electronic circuits & motor controllers..
• Perform simulations, testing, and validation to ensure system performance meets all requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the design, prototyping, and manufacturing phases.
• Ensure products are compliant with relevant standards for power drive systems.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in power electronics in robotics & industrial applications.

Who are we looking for?

• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power electronics & circuit design.
• Strong knowledge of inverters and motor controllers.
• Experience with PCB design tools such as Kicad, Altium or equivalent.
• Experience with electronic circuit simulation software such as LTSpice or equivalent.
• Understanding of thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
• Previous experience in model-based design and/or FPGA platforms will be considered a plus.
• A team player with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
