Ghent University invites applications for a research-focused position in linguistics, with at least 70% of duties devoted to advanced linguistic research and regular reporting at international venues.

You will collaborate with department research groups, publish in top journals, and participate in annual workshops. A three-year term with a bench fee supports your research, and ERC Starting Grant activity is encouraged.

Qualifications

• You hold a doctoral degree in linguistics, or an equivalently recognized degree.
• Minimum one year of postdoctoral seniority at the time of appointment.
• Eligible to apply for ERC Starting Grant in 2027, 2028 and/or 2029 calls.
• Strong international publication record and evidence of research funding.

Responsabilités

• Devote at least 70% of your assignment to scientific research within your linguistic area of specialization.
• Report on your research regularly at scientific meetings and publish in recognized journals and/or books.
• Establish collaborations with researchers affiliated with the department.
• Offer a practical workshop once a year sharing methodological expertise with researchers in the department.
• Submit an ERC Starting Grant application during the three-year mandate.
• Contribute to the department's teaching and outreach activities when possible.
