A Brussels-based trade association is looking for a policy manager to support its representation towards EU institutions. The ideal candidate will monitor EU policies, prepare lobbying strategies, and represent the interests of the membership. A university degree and relevant experience in EU institutions are required. The position offers a challenging work environment and is full-time, starting as of December 2025.

Overview

CLECAT is hiring a policy manager. CLECAT, the Brussels-based trade association representing the interests of freight forwarders, logistics service providers and customs agents, is seeking to extend its policy team. We are looking for a senior and/or a junior policy advisor to support the representation of our membership towards the European institutions.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring EU policy and keeping members informed about policy developments of importance for the freight forwarding and logistics industry in the area of transport (with a focus on road, maritime, multimodal, sustainability, digitalisation).
  • Preparing position papers and developing lobbying strategies in close dialogue with the CLECAT membership.
  • Representing positions at EU level and in bilateral meetings with the EU institutions (Commission, European Parliament, Council).
  • Managing a number of CLECAT internal working groups.
  • Working with other stakeholders at EU level in support of coalitions.
Qualifications and skills
  • University degree in law, political sciences, European studies, or any related field.
  • Relevant professional experience (lobbying EU institutions and/or working experience in EU institutions), preferably in one of the following areas: maritime transport, road freight transport, sustainability.
  • Solid understanding of the functioning of EU institutions and decision-making processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an ability to assimilate the various aspects of an issue rapidly.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written); a second or third European language is appreciated.
  • A dynamic personality, capable of working in a small team but equally independent, well organised and flexible.
