Thema Foundries in Belgium seeks a Plant & Facilities Engineer (HVAC) to oversee critical utility systems in a high-tech production facility. You will manage cooling water, HVAC, compressed air, and vacuum installations, ensuring uptime, safety, and compliance with cleanroom standards.

Leverage data analysis, preventive engineering, and project management to drive reliability and sustainability while coaching technicians and coordinating with external contractors.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC, cooling water, compressed air and vacuum systems in a process industry.
• Experience supervising contractors and driving maintenance quality.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.

As a Plant & Facilities Engineer (HVAC), you are technically responsible for ensuring the continuity, safety, and efficiency of utility systems within our high-tech manufacturing facility. Your focus is on the management and optimization of critical systems, including cooling water, HVAC, compressed air, and vacuum installations. By leveraging data analysis, preventive engineering, and project management, you minimize risks and ensure compliance with stringent cleanroom requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Implement and document preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Define and execute projects that drive continuous improvements in reliability, capacity, and sustainability.
• Identify the root causes of complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Monitor installations and strive to achieve maximum uptime and operational continuity.
• Train, coach, and support Plant & Facilities Technicians.
• Prepare reports related to environmental and sustainability requirements.
• Evaluate external service providers and contractors based on safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Participate in an on-call duty rotation.

Qualifications And Experience

• Master’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC, cooling water, compressed air, and vacuum systems within a process industry environment.
• Experience in supervising, coaching, and managing contractors.
• High standards regarding maintenance quality, operational excellence, and safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a team-oriented mindset.
• Qualification as an Environmental Coordinator Level A and/or Prevention Advisor is a significant asset.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is considered an advantage.
