Your role

As Plant Controller Belgium, you will be the financial business partner for our production site in Genk and lead the local Finance team, consisting of a Senior Accountant and a General Accountant.

You will work closely with local management, production, supply chain and the wider Finance organization to provide clear insights into profitability, costs, operational performance and investment decisions. Combining hands‑on controlling with team leadership, you will ensure reliable financial reporting while helping the team and the business further improve their processes and performance.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and support the Belgian Finance team. Set clear priorities and ensure an effective allocation of responsibilities within the team.
  • Coordinate the monthly closing and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the Belgian plant.
  • Own the plant’s P&L reporting and develop a strong understanding of the balance sheet and cash flow. Analyse actual results against budget, forecast and previous periods, clearly explaining the main variances and performance drivers.
  • Monitor production costs, material consumption, waste, energy, inventory, labour, overheads and other operational KPIs.
  • Perform contribution‑margin, product‑cost and profitability analyses to support commercial and operational decisions.
  • Support CAPEX planning and follow‑up by assessing expenditure, monitoring projects and providing financial insights.
  • Prepare concise management reports and presentations that turn financial and operational data into clear recommendations.
  • Prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasts in cooperation with local management, Operations, HR and the Group FP&A team.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for statutory, consolidated and J‑SOX audit activities relating to the Belgian entity.
  • Contribute to the improvement and automation of controlling processes, including reporting and inventory calculations in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Work together with local and global colleagues on finance projects, reporting improvements and ad hoc business cases.
Who are we looking for?

You are an analytical finance professional who likes to understand how a manufacturing environment works. You are comfortable working with detailed data, but you can also step back and explain the bigger picture to non‑finance colleagues. You bring:

  • A master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Engineering or a related field.
  • Approximately five years of relevant experience in controlling, audit, FP&A or another analytical finance role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a strong advantage.
  • A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cost accounting and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and reporting tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, FCCS or Smart View is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, combined with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions and communicate financial conclusions clearly.
  • A proactive and independent working style, while remaining a collaborative team player.
  • The ability to manage different priorities and deadlines in a dynamic international environment.
  • A hands‑on approach combined with the ability to delegate, set priorities and develop others.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, set expectations and maintain a supportive and collaborative team
  • Professional fluency in Dutch and English
What can you expect from us?
  • A broad controlling position with real ownership and direct exposure to plant and group management.
  • The opportunity to influence both financial and operational decision‑making.
  • An international working environment with colleagues across Europe, the United States and Brazil.
  • The possibility to improve and automate existing reporting and controlling processes.
  • A flexible hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to partially work from home
  • A competitive salary package including company car, group insurance, hospitalisation insurance, meal vouchers and CAO 90 collective bonus.
  • Ongoing opportunities to develop your finance, systems and business‑partnering expertise.
Ready to combine finance with operational impact?

If you enjoy looking beyond the numbers and want to help improve the performance of an international manufacturing organization, we would be pleased to hear from you.
