KU Leuven is seeking a PhD fellow for a 1-year appointment, extendable to 4 years upon evaluation, to pursue education-oriented research at Campus Kulak in Kortrijk. The role combines anatomy education, educational technology evaluation and collaboration with clinicians and industry partners.

The successful candidate will develop teaching sessions, contribute to research outputs and engage in professional development based on a strong interest in anatomy and innovative learning technologies.

Qualifications

• Holds a Master’s degree, preferably in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Educational Sciences or a related discipline.
• Strong research skills and experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Highly motivated to contribute to high-quality and innovative education in anatomy.
• Curious about emerging technologies such as 3D printing, serious games and AR/VR applications.

Responsabilités

• Critically follow recent developments in anatomy and educational innovation and translate insights into educational practice.
• Evaluate the implementation, usability and educational effectiveness of innovative technologies in anatomy education.
• Develop collaborations with educational technology companies and physicians from regional hospitals.
• Prepare practical anatomy teaching sessions and laboratory classes for Bachelor students in Medicine.
• Participate in faculty and research group activities, including meetings, student recruitment, examination supervision and science communication.
