Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) invites applications for a full-time PhD-student position in Brussels Photonics. The project focuses on end-to-end incoherent holographic imaging and joint optical/computational optimization in collaboration with ETRO and NICT, Japan.

The successful candidate will work toward a doctoral degree within four years at the VUB's Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering Sciences (Photonics, Electronics and Information Technology) or Physics, or equivalent.
• Fluent in English and capable of advanced scientific communication.
• Interest in conducting groundbreaking research and pursuing a PhD in applied physics and photonics.

Responsabilités

• Develop end-to-end incoherent holographic imaging systems.
• Model incoherent light propagation and optimize optics and computational imaging.
• Prototype camera optics and hardware for high-quality holograms in natural lighting.
• Collaborate with B-PHOT, ETRO, and international partners; publish results and present at conferences.
