KU Leuven, in collaboration with AMU and VLIRUOS EQUIP, seeks a PhD candidate to lead an equity-adaptive design-based research program across health, agriculture and education. The role involves iterative prototyping, learning analytics and field coaching to improve frontline practice in Ethiopia.

• The applicant must meet the accession and admission requirements of AMU and KU Leuven.
• Demonstrate research readiness with a strong master’s record and feasible concept note.
• Demonstrate aptitude in digital pedagogy, adult learning and inclusive low-bandwidth design.
• Be able to conduct interdisciplinary mixed-method research with non-academic stakeholders.
• Have sufficient English for doctoral research and international collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Develop a rigorous doctoral proposal and equity-adaptive design-based research protocol.
• Conduct literature review, stakeholder needs assessment and baseline research.
• Obtain ethics, informed-consent and data-protection approvals.
• Coordinate iterative design, pilot, evaluation and redesign cycles for micro-certifications.
• Evaluate access, usability, learning, and competency gains in frontline practice.
• Coordinate research linkages with MSc projects and support researchers.
