Job summary

UHasselt in Limburg, Belgium invites applications for a PhD student position in (bio)statistics focused on ecological statistics. You will develop Bayesian hierarchical models, including occupancy models with imperfect detection and spatio-temporal analyses, using Stan and R.

You will publish in journals, present at conferences, and collaborate with ecologists and partners such as INBO and Natuurpunt Studie.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field.
• Strong interest in ecology and biodiversity.
• Experience with Bayesian statistics (Stan) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Publish results in scientific journals and present at conferences.
