Job summary

UCB - Union Chimique Belge in Belgium is seeking a VIE Scientist/Associate Scientist to support development of cellular and biochemical assays for neurodegeneration projects. You will work under supervision to perform a range of experiments in mammalian cells and neurons, documenting results in ELN and presenting data in team meetings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in relevant field with 2+ years in academia or industry.
• Experience with mammalian cell cultures, immunocytochemistry, microscopy, image analysis, capillary Western blot, qPCR and ELISA.
• Experience with mouse primary neurons and/or human iPSC-derived neurons is a strong plus.
• Ability to analyze protein and RNA datasets using computational and statistical methods is a plus.
• Fluent written and spoken English; French is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cellular and biochemical assays for neurodegeneration projects.
• Perform routine lab tasks and conduct diverse experiments in mammalian systems.
• Document and report experiments in electronic lab notebook.
• Present data clearly during internal meetings.
• Collaborate in an international, cross-functional team.
