Job summary

NCIA is seeking a Communications Standards specialist to support NATO CIS technical standards and architectures. The contractor will model reference architectures, contribute to the design and maintenance of standards, and define conformance criteria for SATCOM and related protocols.

Qualifications

• University degree in a CIS field or equivalent technical qualification.
• ArchiMate and TOGAF (or relatable framework) qualification.
• At least 5 years experience with NATO CIS technical specifications in operational environments.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical specs into actionable requirements or guidance.
• Competencies: analytical thinking, clarity/accuracy, conceptual thinking, customer-service orientation, initiative, organizational awareness.

Responsibilities

• Model NATO Reference Architectures with ArchiMate and modelling.
• Develop NATO CIS technical standards including STANAGs, AComP, and SRD.
• Define conformance criteria for NATO communications systems, focusing on SATCOM specs.
• Support interoperability across NATO CIS systems across BLoS, LoS, SATCOM, and cellular.
• Support governance, coordination, and capability teams within DPC sub-structure, NCIA, and standard custodians.
