Job summary

Vector Synergy is seeking a skilled CIS Architect to deliver NATO Communications Reference Architectures using ArchiMate and to contribute to NATO standardization documents. The role requires a university degree in a CIS-related field and five years of NATO CIS experience, with qualifications in ArchiMate and TOGAF.

The successful candidate will support modernization of application layers and routing protocols to enable HF and IP networks integration, working in Brussels, Belgium on site.

Qualifications

• Must hold a university degree in a relevant CIS field such as systems science or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Must hold a qualification in the use of ArchiMate and TOGAF (or relatable framework).
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience with NATO CIS technical specifications and their application in operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver NATO Communications Reference Architectures using ArchiMate, focusing on NATO Communications Reference Architecture.
• Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of NATO Standardization Documents (STANAGs, AComP, SRD).
• Support modernization of application layer and routing protocols enabling HF and IP-based networks integration.

Skills, knowledge, experience required:

• M ust possess a university degree in a relevant CIS field such as systems science, or an equivalent technical qualification ;
• M ust possess a relevant qualification in the use of ArchiMate and TOGAF (or relatable framework) ;
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience working with NATO CIS technical specifications, including demonstrated knowledge of their application in operational environments .

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the NATO Digital Policy Committee (DPC) and its substructure ;
• Knowledge of NATO standardization artefacts, including STANAGs, Allied Communications Publications ( AComP ), and Standards Related Documents (SRD) ;
• Professional certifications in areas such as ITIL, PRINCE2, PMP, or CIS governance .

Duties/role:

• Delivering NATO Communications Reference Architectures using ArchiMate, with a primary focus on the NATO Communications Reference Architectur e;
• Contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of NATO Standardization Documents related to communications and networking, including STANAGs, Allied Communications Publications ( AComP ), and Standards Related Documents (SRD) ;
• Supporting the modernization and development of application layer and routing protocols enabling integration of HF and other BLoS communications systems with IP-based networks .
