Randstad Belgium in Geel seeks a driven MSAT Specialist to bridge lab innovation and large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing. You will lead scale-up, process optimization, and technology transfers, bringing innovative therapies from drawing board to patient while ensuring robustness and cost-efficiency.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, apply GMP principles, and work with cell culture or purification processes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years OR a PhD with a minimum of 3 years in process development or MSAT in Life Sciences
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture or purification at lab/manufacturing scale
• Solid GMP understanding; experience with data trending and statistical tools is a plus

Description

Are you a driven scientist who wants to bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing? As an MSAT Specialist, you will play a key role in the scale-up, improvement, and monitoring of biological manufacturing processes for our client in Geel. In this role, you will bring innovative therapies from the drawing board to the patient by leading process optimization and seamless technology transfers. You combine in-depth scientific expertise with practical applications in cell culture or purification. Together with multidisciplinary teams and the laboratory, you ensure that both new and existing manufacturing processes run robustly, cost-effectively, and in compliance with the strictest quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Technology Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of new drug substance manufacturing processes from R&D laboratories to large-scale GMP manufacturing facilities.
• Documentation & Qualification: Ensure documentation readiness (e.g., fit-gap analyses, process control strategies, batch sheets, and sampling plans) and provide support during process performance qualification (PPQ).
• Process Optimization: Identify and lead initiatives to increase process yield and robustness, and compile supporting data packages for manufacturing implementation.
• Monitoring & Deviations: Monitor commercial processes via data trending, draft scientific protocols and reports for process changes, and conduct impact assessments for manufacturing deviations.

Your Profile

• Education & Experience: Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years OR a PhD with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in process development or an MSAT environment within Life Sciences.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture or purification processes at laboratory and/or manufacturing scale.
• Data & Quality: Solid understanding of GMP guidelines (prior GMP experience is a strong asset). Experience with statistical tools and data trending (such as JMP, Statistica, MATLAB, or SIMCA) is a plus.
• Languages: Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
• Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills, a precise and analytical approach, flexibility (willingness to occasionally work evening or weekend shifts), and the talent to collaborate smoothly in multidisciplinary teams.
