Virya Energy is seeking an Environment coordinator to develop and implement the environmental strategy across Belgium units, including Hydrogen, DATS 24, Grid Solutions and Commercial & Industrial Solutions. You will combine hands-on delivery with a focus on compliance, risk management and sustainability.

You will support project teams, drive improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field.
• Certified Environmental Coordinator Level A, or willingness to obtain.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in environmental management, permitting, compliance or environmental consulting.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory reporting.

Responsabilités

• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permit conditions and reporting obligations.
• Coordinate environmental permit applications, registrations and interactions with regulatory authorities.

We are currently looking for an Environment coordinator who will develop, implement and continuously improve the environmental strategy and compliance framework across Virya Energy Belgium’s business units. Working across the departments Hydrogen, DATS 24, Grid Solutions, and Commercial & Industrial Solutions, you combine a hands‑on approach with a strong focus on environmental compliance, risk management and sustainability. You support project and operational teams in minimizing environmental risks and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• You investigate environmental incidents and non‑conformities and drive corrective actions.
• You identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability performance.
• You raise environmental awareness and promote a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent through experience.
• Certified Environmental Coordinator Level A, or willing to obtain the certification.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in environmental management, permitting, compliance or environmental consulting.
• Good knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex environmental topics into practical actions.
• Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of French and English is an asset.
