Meliore Foundation is seeking an Internal Communications Associate to advance its internal communications strategy across a distributed international network. You will craft clear, engaging content, support events, maintain knowledge bases and drive information flow across Google Drive, intranet and other platforms.

Description

As Internal Communications Associate, you’ll help bring Meliore Foundation’s internal communications strategy to life across a growing international network, with colleagues working predominantly remotely across nearly 40 countries. Working closely with the Internal Communications Manager, you’ll create clear, engaging and visually compelling content; support internal events and initiatives; manage and maintain key information across internal platforms; and develop communications plans that help colleagues stay informed, aligned and connected. You’ll also bring ideas for knowledge sharing and new ways of communicating across a diverse and distributed network. This is a hands‑on, varied role for someone who enjoys combining creativity with strong organisation and execution. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, take ownership of communications activities and help shape how information and knowledge flow across the Foundation.

How you'll contribute

• Support the Internal Communications Manager in developing and implementing the internal communications strategy, contributing ideas, feedback and content, and identifying opportunities to strengthen network engagement and collaboration;
• Build strong, inclusive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and teams across the network to understand communication needs and support effective information sharing;
• Create clear, engaging and tailored written and visual content for internal platforms and channels, including updates, announcements, graphics, simple videos and other communications materials;
• Work with the Internal Communications Manager to plan and deliver consistent, effective network-wide communications for initiatives and projects across a range of internal channels;
• Support the development and improvement of internal platforms, ensuring key information is well organised, accessible and kept up to date;
• Help develop and improve knowledge management systems and practices, working closely with the IT team to organise documents and key information across network storage solutions, such as Google Drive and the intranet;
• Identify and coordinate opportunities for learning and knowledge sharing across colleagues and teams, including amplifying case studies, achievements and work across the network, with JEDI considerations embedded throughout;
• Plan, set up and facilitate online meetings, events and other internal initiatives, with support from the Internal Communications Manager;
• Support initiatives and communications that strengthen culture, community and shared organisational norms, aligned with the internal communications strategy;
• Engage with colleagues in ways that reflect and reinforce Meliore’s culture and values.

Our ideal candidate has

• Previous experience in an internal communications role (+2 years), with exposure to knowledge management, staff engagement and organisational communications, ideally within an international network or organisation;
• Experience supporting or delivering internal communications projects and initiatives, with the ability to provide advice and guidance to colleagues and, where appropriate, senior leaders;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and engaging content and tailor messages to different audiences;
• Proficiency with digital and communications tools such as Slab, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Drive, SharePoint, Asana, Trello and Slack;
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work to deadlines;
• A collaborative and generous approach to working with colleagues in an international and multicultural environment, with sensitivity to different perspectives, working styles and cultural norms;
• Creative, proactive and solutions-oriented, with the adaptability to work effectively in a fast-paced and varied environment where remote working is the norm;
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, with the emotional intelligence to build trust, navigate different perspectives and work effectively across diverse stakeholders and time zones;
• Genuine interest in issues at the intersection of technology, society and democracy, and commitment to Meliore’s mission and values, including justice, equity, diversity and inclusion;
• Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are an asset;
• Ability to work within ±6 hours of CET.
