In4Matic is seeking a medior Security System Engineer to bolster a modern workplace and IT security environment. You will blend hands-on support with project-driven improvements to enhance the organization’s security posture in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities include defining security strategy, implementing roadmaps, and monitoring incidents in a Microsoft ecosystem. Fluency in Dutch and English is required, with hybrid work and long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 3–5 years of Security Engineer or similar experience.
• Strong communication skills for explaining topics to stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with initiative and change support.

Our client is looking for a medior Security System Engineer to strengthen a modern workplace and IT security environment. This is a long-term consulting opportunity where you will combine hands-on operational support with project-driven improvements, helping to further develop the organization’s security posture in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and monitor the security approach within the IT environment.
• Translate security needs and risks into a clear roadmap and manage the security backlog.
• Follow up on incidents, alerts, and vulnerabilities in a timely and structured way.
• Contribute to security projects within a Microsoft-based ecosystem.
• Support user awareness, provide guidance, and help promote a strong security culture.
• Combine security ownership with operational IT support where needed.

Technical Skills

• Experience with Microsoft security solutions such as Intune, Defender, Microsoft 365 Security, and Entra ID.
• Knowledge of Active Directory hardening, Entra ID hardening, and Azure Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
• Understanding of identity and access management, hardening, and endpoint security.
• Good knowledge of infrastructure and network concepts, including:
• Network segmentation
• Firewalls
• DNS
• VPN
• Network Detection & Response (NDR)

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in a Security Engineer, System Engineer Security, or similar role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly to different stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions, take initiative, and support change.
• Experience in a production environment is an advantage.

Practical Information

• Location: region of Deerlijk or Langklaar.
• Work arrangement: 1 day per week remote.
• Assignment type: full-time, with part-time availability also open for discussion.
• Start date: to be agreed.
• Language requirements: fluent Dutch and fluent English.
