Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing mechatronic or robotic systems.
• Strong understanding of robotics integration and electromechanical design.
• Experience with servo motors and drives, actuators and gearboxes, sensors and feedback systems, motion control.
• CAD design experience using SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, testing, and validation.
• Knowledge of industrial automation environments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve robotic and mechatronic systems for industrial applications.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control subsystems into fully functioning robotic platforms.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, commissioning, and validation activities.
• Work on actuator selection, motor sizing, transmission systems, sensors, and motion control components.
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electromechanical issues.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, technical specifications, and test reports.
• Collaborate with controls and software engineers on system integration and performance optimisation.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to system architecture decisions.
• Support transition from R&D prototypes into scalable manufacturing solutions.
• Ensure designs meet reliability, safety, and quality requirements.

Overview:

An innovative robotics organisation based in Antwerp is seeking an experienced Robotic Mechatronic Engineer to support the development, integration, and optimisation of next-generation robotic systems. This role will focus on the design and validation of electromechanical assemblies, robotic platforms, motion systems, and system-level integration within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

The successful contractor will work closely with software, controls, electronics, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver high-performance robotic solutions from prototype to production.
