Access Talent Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the full mechanical package on a major data centre project in Belgium. The role is site-based with a full rotation package, working closely with the client, main contractor and design teams to deliver on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering large-scale mechanical projects.
• Strong experience with mechanical contracting or specialist MEP contractor environments.
• Experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or mission-critical projects.
• Strong technical understanding of large-scale HVAC systems and building services.
• Experience managing full mechanical package from construction through commissioning and handover.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers and installation teams.
• Strong programme and project management experience.
• Good commercial awareness including variations, procurement and cost control.
• Confident communicating with clients, consultants and main contractors.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join an established mechanical engineering and contracting business delivering the full mechanical package on a major data centre project in Belgium.

This is a key site-based position with responsibility for managing the mechanical works from construction through to completion, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The company has recently secured a new €1.2 million contract with one of Europe's leading General Contractors, creating further opportunities across multiple European projects and providing a strong long-term pipeline for the business.

The successful candidate will work closely with the client, main contractor, consultants, design teams, subcontractors and suppliers, taking ownership of the mechanical package and acting as a key point of contact throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package on site.
• Manage the project from construction through to commissioning and handover.
• Lead and coordinate mechanical installation teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Manage the project programme and ensure mechanical works are delivered against key milestones.
• Coordinate closely with the client, main contractor, consultants and other project disciplines.
• Act as the primary mechanical point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
• Review mechanical designs, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical installations with electrical, CSA and other trades.
• Monitor progress, productivity, quality and resource requirements.
• Manage procurement, materials, plant and equipment requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction issues.
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, variations and change control.
• Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications and project standards.
• Lead progress meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Mechanical Package

The role will cover the delivery and coordination of the full mechanical installation, including areas such as:

• HVAC systems
• Chilled water systems
• Heating and cooling systems
• Ventilation
• Mechanical pipework
• Pumps and mechanical plant
• Water services
• Mechanical plant rooms
• BMS and controls interfaces
• Testing, commissioning and handover

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering large-scale mechanical projects.
• Strong experience working for a mechanical contractor or specialist MEP contractor.
• Experience delivering data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial or other mission-critical projects.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services and large-scale HVAC installations.
• Experience managing the full mechanical package from construction through to commissioning and handover.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers and installation teams.
• Strong programme and project management experience.
• Good commercial awareness, including variations, procurement and cost control.
• Confident dealing directly with clients, consultants and main contractors.
• Strong technical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Willingness to work on a rotational basis in Belgium.
