ENGIE Belgium in Brussels is seeking a Short-Term Power Market Analyst to join the STP team on the trading floor. You will monitor short-term wholesale and imbalance markets, forecast prices, and develop end-to-end models from research to production.
Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field, have 5+ years in power markets, strong Python skills, and experience with data science, optimization models, and cloud tools. Fluent English is required; Dutch or French are a plus.

The Expertise Center Market Analysis and the Business Platform Power Trading, Structuring & Origination (PTSO) are looking for a Short-Term Power Market Analyst to join the Short-Term Power Market Analysis (STP) team in Brussels. The position sits on the trading floor, embedded in an extended team of market analysts, meteorologists, hydrologists and data scientists, and reports to the leader of the STP team.
The STP team covers short-term power markets — week-ahead, day-ahead, intraday, ancillary and imbalance — in support of trading and portfolio management activities in Central Western Europe (CWE). The team collaborates closely with the Long-Term Power and Meteo & Climate teams to develop and maintain the company’s fundamental modelling platform.
The role combines deep market expertise with machine learning and data science methodologies to propose trading and portfolio management strategies. The analyst will contribute to the development of automated trading capabilities for flexible assets, renewable imbalance risk optimization, and proprietary trading in short-term power markets.
As Short-Term Power Market Analyst, your mission is to turn market fundamentals into trading value: monitoring short-term power markets, forecasting prices and proposing trading and portfolio management strategies, while owning your models end-to-end from research to production.
