Absolute Jobs Oostende is assisting a growing company specialized in ship repair and maintenance in finding a MARINE MECHANIC. The role offers independence, responsibility, and working on ships.

You will perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on engines, drive systems, pumps, and other installations, at the workshop in Ostend or on-site across West Flanders, with on-site tasks starting independently.

Responsabilités

• Performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on ships.
• Working on different vessels, both at the workshop in Ostend and on-site throughout West Flanders.
• Starting on-site and working independently on the scheduled tasks.
• Being responsible for the maintenance, dismantling and assembly of mechanical components.
• Working on engines, drive systems, pumps and other mechanical installations.
• Detecting mechanical faults and defects and providing suitable solutions.
• Carrying out mechanical interventions and repairs.
• Checking and testing installations after completing the work.
• Actively thinking along with technical issues and independently looking for solutions.

As a SHIP MECHANIC, your responsibilities will include:
