Job summary

Bekina NV in Belgium is seeking a hands-on machine operator to work across mixer, follow-up roller, logistics and extrusion steps in rubber compound production. You will set up machines, weigh materials, monitor processes and ensure quality during several stages of production.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production environment.
• Experience as an operator setting up machines and solving minor technical problems.
• Notions, interest in rubber compounding or rubber in general is a plus.
• You are quality-oriented and work meticulously (weighing must be done correctly).
• You can work well in a small team, switch quickly if a colleague is absent, work on different machines.
• You are Dutch-speaking, basic English is an advantage.
• You can handle physical work (lifting loads), standing work.

Responsibilities

• Weighing out powders and adding correct quantities into the mixer, monitoring visualisation and mixer control.
• Troubleshooting using procedures and machine control (suction/blowing systems, vacuum pumps).
• After mixing, rubber ends up in the tracking roller and must be cooled and checked.
• Logistics tasks: supply and remove raw materials with forklift, pallet transport, feeding Big Bags into silos.
• Extrusion: set parameters, configure moulds, and package finished products.

Job description

In this position as an operator, you will be multi-deployable on various machines within the production of Compounds.
Mixer:

• Weighing out powders
• Adding correct quantities into the machine
• Visualisation and mixer control
• Troubleshooting using procedures (computer-controlled settings)
• Technical understanding (machine operates via suction and blowing systems, vacuum pumps)

Follow-up roller:

• After mixing, rubber ends up in the tracking roller
• Follow instructions on sheet
• Remove from rubber and cool
• Additional mixing if not according to required quality (quality control)
• Physical handling: trimming, stripping

Logistics:

• Supply and remove raw materials with forklift truck
• Experience certainly required (certificate can be obtained or renewed internally)
• Transport with pallet truck
• Preparing pallets and attachments
• Feeding Big Bags into the silos

Extrusion:

• Setting the right parameters
• Conversion to the correct configuration (placing screens and correct moulds)
• Packaging of finished products

What we expect from you

What we offer you

• We are looking for full-time operators for a 2-shift system (5:00a.m.–1:05p.m. and 1:00p.m. – 9:05p.m.) and for a fixed night shift (Sunday night through Thursday night, 9:00 p.m. – 5:05 a.m.)
  Shift premium: 11.43%; fixed night shift: 25%
