Antwerp Space in Belgium is seeking a Space System Engineer specializing in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to lead the design and integration of next-generation radar systems. You will translate customer needs into robust architectures, guide multi-disciplinary teams across RF, digital, analogue, software and firmware, and drive proposals, verification, and testing from concept to spacecraft integration.

Fluency in English is required; EU resident or eligible for relocation to Belgium; ECSS

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Space Engineering, Signal Processing or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hardware systems engineering experience, preferably in radar/radio systems.
• Working knowledge of ECSS standards and space industry practices.

Responsabilités

• Define end-to-end system architecture for spaceborne SAR systems and assess trade-offs.
• Lead elicitation and flow-down of mission requirements into detailed specs.
• Develop budgets, data rates, and simulation-based SAR performance validation.
• Support pre-development and proposal activities, and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
• Generate and maintain design documentation, budgets, procedures, and test plans.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and firmware.
• Define onboard or ground SAR signal processing architectures and imaging algorithms.
• Lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with stakeholders and customers.
