VITO seeks a scientist with strong remote sensing and data science expertise to advance environmental intelligence projects. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, develop geospatial workflows, and contribute to biodiversity monitoring and natural capital accounting for EU and international clients.

Required: 3–5 years in geospatial data processing and programming (Python/R/C++), plus experience in project coordination. English communication is essential; French/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Engineering or Master’s/PhD in environmental, exact or applied sciences, geoinformatics, bioscience engineering, agronomy, geography or data science.
• Strong background in environmental sciences, biodiversity, ecosystems, land use or natural capital assessment.
• Experience with geospatial data processing, remote sensing analytics, statistics and big data analysis (3–5+ years).

Responsabilités

• Develop robust geospatial workflows and data products for ecosystem extent, condition and ecosystem services assessments.
• Collaborate on European projects and with international partners; coordinate deliverables.
• Lead technical tasks or work packages in multidisciplinary teams.
