Materialise in Belgium seeks an Enterprise Architecture leader to shape and execute our architecture strategy across multiple business units. You will define the vision, establish guardrails, and ensure alignment of business and IT strategies while guiding domain architects.

You will lead agile architecture enablement, oversee major enterprise and cross‑BU systems, and translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps, standards, and durable architectural practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of enterprise-level architecture leadership experience in complex, multi‑BU environments.
• Strong skills in business capability modeling, road mapping, and strategic portfolio alignment.
• Strong facilitation and communication abilities; able to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven people and team leadership with non-hierarchical influence and direct leadership.
• Knowledge of agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) and their architectural roles.
• Excellent English communication skills.

• Shape and support demand intake and portfolio prioritization from an architectural perspective.
• Define and maintain the architecture runway to enable business initiatives.
• Advise on trade-offs between business value, technical sustainability, and complexity.
• Guide and coach domain architects to ensure consistency across domains.
• Govern enterprise architecture standards and guardrails for interoperability, scalability, security.
• Oversee solution evaluation processes for major enterprise and cross‑BU systems.
• Embed agile activities to support delivery and architecture runway development.

Guide and coach domain architects, ensuring consistency across domains

Facilitate alignment across enterprise platforms and BU-specific solutions

Ensure solution designs contribute to an integrated and coherent enterprise landscape

For selected domains, act directly as a domain architect: creating roadmaps, maintaining standards, facilitating solution alignment

Integration and standards

Govern enterprisearchitecturestandardsand guardrails, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and security across IT and BU-delivered systems

Ensure end-to-endarchitectural alignment acrosscentralenterprisesystemsandBU-specific systems,enablingan integrated enterprise landscape

Embed non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, scalability, security, maintainability) by design, ensuring reliable, secure, and cost-effective operations

Act as a seniorleader of the Architecture Enabling Team — embedding agile activitieswhere needed to supportdelivery:supporting teams in backlog refinement and solution design,participatinginPIPlanning andPreparation,shaping the architecture runway and enablers

Foster anagile, just‑enough architecture approachthat avoids stage‑gate delaysand heavy upfront designwhilemaintainingalignment with strategic direction

Your profile

At least 5 years of proven experience in enterprise‑level architecture leadership in complex, multi‑BU environments

Strong skills inbusiness capability modeling,architecture road mapping, andstrategic portfolio alignment

Strong facilitation skills; able to translate business goals into actionable design guardrails

Strong people and team leadership skills, with demonstrated experience in influencing, coaching, and aligning teams through non‑hierarchical influence as well as direct line management

Strong ability to influence senior business and IT stakeholders

Knowledge of agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) and their architectural roles

Good, professional communication skills English
