Job summary

LyondellBasell's Bornem site is seeking an Analytical and PAD Lab Manager to lead the Analytical and PAD laboratories, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality execution. You will oversee people, allocate resources, drive continuous improvement, and partner with Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial teams to translate needs into solutions.

A master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is required (PhD a plus); 8–10 years of relevant experience; English fluency and Dutch

Qualifications

• Master's in chemistry or chemical engineering required; PhD advantageous.
• 8–10 years in analytical labs, polymer or application development, with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of analytical techniques, polymers, additives, extrusion methods.
• Continuous improvement experience; Lean/Six Sigma a plus.
• Experience with lab digitalization, automation or LIMS valued.
• Experience with SAP and Sopheon software.
• Fluent in English with good Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Analytical and PAD laboratories, ensuring safe, efficient execution.
• Manage requests from development, production and customers to closure.
• Prioritize portfolio and allocate people, equipment and capacity.
• Collaborate with Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Stewardship, Technical Service and Commercial teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and Operational Excellence requirements.
• Develop and validate laboratory methods to maintain standards.
• Drive improvements, digitalization and automation for workflows and data quality.
• Present CAPEX and OPEX proposals for lab equipment and projects.
• Build team capability through coaching, training and succession planning.
• Provide analytical support to MBS innovation and customer projects.
