Job summary

Core Laboratories Inc. in Antwerp, Belgium is seeking a Lab Technician to perform basic to moderate laboratory tests to determine chemical or physical characteristics for our clients.

You will set up and operate laboratory equipment, prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas, answer inquiries from clients, maintain safety and quality standards, and document results in laboratory computer programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one-year related laboratory experience and/or training preferred
• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.
• Perform analytical tests of basic to moderate difficulty from well-defined standards and procedures.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in laboratory and safety manuals and company policies.
• Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.
• Understand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into laboratory computer programs.
• Resolve routine issues without supervision required.
• Attend regular safety meetings.
