Thule Group is seeking a Kit Engineer to develop adapter kits for awnings and steps, ensuring fit, form and function across vehicle types. You will coordinate with product management, sales and production to deliver high-quality kits and support sales teams with technical expertise.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Industrial Product Design, with CAD-3D experience (SolidWorks) and strong English and Dutch language skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's in Industrial Product Design or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in CAD-3D drawing with SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, English and familiarity with French is desirable.
  • Experience in mechanical design and technical drawing is advantageous.
  • Proactive, creative, analytical and communicative mindset.

Responsabilités

  • Develop and design adapter kits for awnings and steps.
  • Implement optimizations and quality improvements on existing kits.
  • Manage product development projects from concept to industrialization.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, purchasing and product management.
  • Act as technical expert to support internal and external sales.
  • Assess and approve supplier samples and perform test fittings.
  • Present concepts to clients and participate in client visits and fairs.

Role and Tasks

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person with a passion for RV’s. As Kit Engineer within the adapter team, you play a key role in enabling sales for our main product categories by ensuring an optimal fit on different vehicles. You are responsible for the technical design of the adapters for our product categories ‘awnings’ and ‘steps’. You will align with product management and sales on required specifications and ensure they are fulfilled (form, fit and function). You report to the Kit Team Leader and are part of the Product development team.

  • You are responsible for the development & design of adapter kits for awnings & steps.
  • You implement defined optimizations and quality improvements on existing adapter kits.
  • You are responsible to manage your product development projects from concept to
  • You closely cooperate with production, sales, purchase & product management.

track of new RV’s and other evolutions in the market.

Profile
  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Product Design or equivalent
  • You bring preferably a few years of experience in a similar function; graduates are also
  • Knowledge of Dutch (very good), English (good), French (basic), and German is a plus
  • (basic).
  • Knowledge of mechanical design; knowledge of CAD-3D drawing (SolidWorks is a plus).
  • Spatial insight and familiarity with the principles of technical drawing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Creative, conceptual, and strong analytical insight.
  • Dynamic, communicative, flexible, and proactive.
  • You have a natural interest in vehicles, especially in recreational vehicles.
  • You represent the Thule brand with an 'active lifestyle'.
