Overview

Key Account Manager (field based, Belgium)

Purpose of the role: Reporting to the Sales Manager Benelux, this role will be the primary point of contact for Retail & hospital setting customers, wholesalers and market access customers, and will position Organon’s portfolio to meet customer needs. You will work closely with Key Accounts and hospital accounts to address complex needs and provide a high-quality customer experience. This role aims to deliver value to patients, payers and physicians and to be a trusted partner within Organon’s therapeutic areas. It is an independent role within the Benelux cluster, requiring autonomous cross-functional collaboration in the region.

Main responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets for portfolio products and meet agreed KPIs.
  • Develop and execute key product plans and focus area strategies to ensure effective implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager and Business Cluster Manager (BCM) to create and refine the marketing plan for various product segments.
  • Design and implement customer-centric action plans for key accounts within the respective country, including centers and scientific leaders.
  • Work closely with Market Access teams to develop and execute stakeholder plans.
  • Take the lead in initiating and monitoring promotional budgets, including detailed activities, requisitions, and SAP processes.
  • Manage local forecasting in partnership with the BCM and oversee supply chain reporting with the local Finance Department for product portfolios.
  • Negotiate and coordinate sponsorships and the development of local Organon events and materials, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, including submission and approval processes for events and materials and updates on Local Authority Procedures.
  • Collaborate with the BCM, Market Access, and Tender and Contract Managers on contracts and special offers or discounts.
  • Adapt regional marketing tools for local use within the Cross-Functional Team (CFT), or develop fully localized materials in collaboration with the BCM.
  • Organize and manage international and local congresses, as well as Organon events (lectures, symposiums), in collaboration with the BCM, Medical Department, and BPM.
  • Regularly report on competition, biosimilars, sales performance, market trends, and key account statuses using sales monitoring tools and data.
  • Engage in continuous medical and skills training to ensure excellence in customer interactions.
  • Liaise with the cluster Medical Adviser to provide input on the cluster Medical Action Plan.
  • Maintain follow-up with hospital pharmacies and customers regarding implemented contracts.
  • Achieve the set sales budget by delivering value to customers and patients through tailored customer solutions in collaboration with BCMs.
  • Foster cooperation with cluster stakeholders within the Benelux organization, including compliance, finance, and commercial operations.
  • Ensure close collaboration with various departments to align on and execute the key stakeholder plan effectively.
  • Regular travel across The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, with occasional international travel (approximately 5 days per year).
  • Allocate 80% of working hours to direct customer engagement and 20% to reporting, planning, budgeting, compliance, and internal stakeholder networking.

Your profile

  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in a marketing or sales role within the pharmaceutical industry (preferably within fertility or biosimilars).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health Care Organizations, including decision-making processes related to reimbursement, patient access to medication, tendering, and contracting.
  • Experience in marketing, project management, sales, and market access.
  • Strong expertise in utilizing CRM systems to share client and activity information effectively.
  • Proven ability to identify priority accounts, customer needs, and business opportunities to deliver effective solutions and results.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining long-term relationships and partnerships.
  • Committed to continuous personal and professional development in alignment with a personal development plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment, bringing order to complexity.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication abilities in Dutch or French (BE) and good knowledge of English.
