YOUR TASKS
Food Structure & Function (BW23) is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientific co-worker (junior) to support projects in collaboration with industrial partners.
The Food Structure & Function Research Group (FSF), headed by Prof. dr. ir. Koen Dewettinck, is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientific co-worker (junior) to support projects in collaboration with industrial partners. You will plan and perform analyses elucidating food microstructures at the different length-scales (nano-, micro-, meso- and macroscale). You will process the data, supported by insights from scientific literature, and report to the industrial partner. You will be supervised by a post-doctoral researcher or equivalent.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You have a university degree of MSc in Bioengineering Sciences or equivalent, with a vast knowledge of and interest in food technology, sensory, food physics and/or food physical chemistry. Experience in specific analysis techniques, more particularly differential scanning calorimetry, pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance, x-ray scattering and microscopy (at least optical, preferable electron microscopy) is a must.
Important additional qualifications are sense of initiative, team spirit, sense of responsibility, motivation and dynamism, persistence, and good communication and reporting skills.
