Senhive, a technology leader in counter-drone systems, seeks a Junior Network & Support Engineer to join our IT team in Hasselt, Belgium. You will manage the internal network, laptops, workstations, productivity tools and IT infrastructure, providing hands-on support and helping roll out new services.

You will work with the team to keep the IT environment reliable, secure and well documented, with opportunities to learn in virtualization, containers and database technologies.

Qualifications

• Fluent English communication skills and professional Dutch or French are required.
• Experience in system or network administration with an IT mindset.
• Interest in virtualization (Proxmox) and containerization (Docker).
• Willingness to perform hands-on hardware tasks and cabling.

Job description
We are looking for a Junior Network & Support Engineer to join our team and help manage and support our internal IT environment.

In this hands‑on role, you will be a key point of contact for colleagues when it comes to our internal network, laptops and workstations, productivity tools, internal services and IT infrastructure. You will combine technical support, system and network administration, and infrastructure maintenance, with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

You will work closely with the team to keep our IT environment reliable, secure and well documented, while also contributing to the rollout of new internal services and technologies.

What you’ll do

System Administration & Infrastructure

• Support the day-to-day administration, maintenance and monitoring of internal systems and servers.
• Perform system updates, upgrades and basic troubleshooting.
• Contribute to backup, recovery and business continuity processes.
• Assist with the deployment and maintenance of on‑premise infrastructure.

Network Administration

• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot our internal LAN/WAN infrastructure, including VLANs.
• Support network configuration, connectivity and performance monitoring.
• Install and maintain network equipment.
• Carry out hands‑on infrastructure work when required, such as installing network cabling and hardware.

Internal Services & DevOps

• Deploy, configure and maintain internal services for development and production use.
• Support the introduction of new self‑hosted and on‑premise solutions.
• Work with technologies such as virtualization, containers and databases.
• Contribute to the management and maintenance of internal IT assets, including laptops, monitors and other equipment.

Internal IT Support

• Act as a first point of contact for colleagues with day‑to‑day IT questions and issues.
• Provide support for Windows and macOS devices, printers, monitors, docking stations and other peripherals.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Teams, Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Assist with software installations, account issues, password resets, VPN access and other common IT requests.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support and ensure issues are followed up appropriately.

Website & Hosting

• Manage and maintain website hosting, DNS, SSL certificates and domain names.
• Configure and maintain mailbox and related hosting settings.
• Monitor website availability and performance.
• Support website deployments and updates.
• Liaise with external hosting and web partners when required.
• Contribute to website security, backups and basic technical SEO.

Documentation & Procedures

• Create and maintain IT documentation, manuals and knowledge base articles.
• Document standard procedures, installation guides and troubleshooting steps.
• Maintain onboarding documentation and internal IT procedures.
• Help ensure that IT processes and configurations are properly documented and easy to follow.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is curious, hands‑on and eager to develop their skills in IT infrastructure.

You have:

• A first professional experience, internship or strong practical experience in system and/or network administration.
• A good understanding of, or strong interest in, IP networking, VLANs and network hardware.
• An interest in or experience with virtualization, such as Proxmox, and containerization, such as Docker.
• A hands‑on mindset and are not afraid of physical IT work, such as installing hardware or running network cables.
• A customer‑oriented and solution‑focused approach when supporting colleagues.
• An interest in open‑source, self‑hosted and on‑premise technologies.
• Basic knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL or MariaDB is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of secure system and network configuration is a plus.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Professional proficiency in either Dutch or French is required.
• Employment is subject to obtaining Belgian, EU, and NATO security clearance, hence we require EU nationality.
