Job summary

Scalable Capital is hiring software engineers to develop and evolve cloud-native financial services using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot. You will work in cross-functional teams, embracing agile practices, code reviews, automated testing and continuous delivery.

The role emphasizes reliable, secure code for production finance workflows and opportunities to learn Domain-Driven Design and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• Practical experience with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of OOP, API development, relational databases and automated testing.
• Interest in Domain-Driven Design and translating business requirements into software solutions.
• Curiosity about cloud-native development, distributed systems and AWS.
• Quality and security minded, focusing on clean, reliable code.
• Interest in complex financial workflows and fast learning.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve critical services using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with engineers in cross-functional teams; participate in agile practices and code reviews.
• Build and operate cloud-native apps on AWS (ECS, Lambda); support CI/CD, observability and testing.
• Write secure, maintainable code and contribute to production-ready financial workflows.

• Contribute to the development and evolution of business‑critical services using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot.
• Work closely with experienced engineers in cross‑functional teams, learning agile practices, Domain‑Driven Design, code reviews, automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Learn to build and operate cloud‑native applications on AWS, including containerised services on ECS and event‑driven workloads on Lambda.
• Support reliable delivery and operations through infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability and monitoring.
• Write clean, secure, well‑tested and maintainable code, with guidance and regular feedback from the team.
• Contribute to delivering valuable, resilient and compliant financial workflows to production.

• A university degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering or sciences), a comparable qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical experience with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot, gained through internships, working‑student roles, personal projects or university projects.
• A solid understanding of object‑oriented programming, API development, relational databases and automated testing.
• An interest in Domain‑Driven Design and translating business requirements into clear software solutions.
• Curiosity about cloud‑native development, distributed systems and AWS.
• A quality and security mindset, with attention to clean, maintainable and reliable code.
• An interest in complex financial workflows and the motivation to learn quickly.
• Clear communication skills, a collaborative mindset and openness to feedback.
