Eneco Wind Belgium SA (EWB) is seeking a Junior Investment Analyst to support financial planning for wind energy projects. You will help ensure data integrity throughout project lifecycles and develop robust financial assumptions, reporting to the Senior Investment Analyst and collaborating with the Finance and Development teams.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of financial analysis experience, with fluency in Dutch, French and English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in financial or investment analysis.
• Experience in energy or capital-intensive industries is a plus.
• Strong IT skills, especially Excel; knowledge of VBA, R or Python is a plus.
• Proficiency in Dutch, French and English.
• Based in Wavre with one day per week in Mechelen.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and update the master business plan, aligned with best practices in renewables.
• Provide structured updates on key financial metrics and assumptions with the Finance team.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process for development projects.
• Support Development and Construction teams with detailed business plans and monitoring.
• Prepare investment cases and supporting documents for approvals.
• Perform post-investment analyses comparing outcomes to forecasts.
• Carry out financial analyses across wind energy development and operation topics.
• Collaborate with regional stakeholders in Flanders and Wallonia to grow wind projects.
• Monitor new financing mechanisms, subsidies, and regulatory developments for funding.
• Support pricing strategies and CPPAs for renewable assets.

Eneco Wind Belgium SA (EWB) is part of the Eneco group since 2008. Eneco is a leading player in the renewable energies sector and aims to be carbon-free in 2035. We develop, build and operate wind farms offshore and onshore.

What will you do

As part of the Finance team, the Junior Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial and strategic planning of renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on wind energy. In this role, you will help ensure the integrity of financial information throughout the project lifecycle and contribute to the development of robust financial assumptions based on reliable data. You will report to the Senior Investment Analyst and work closely with the development teams and other members of the Finance team.

You will be responsible for

• Maintain and update the master business plan, ensuring alignment with best practices, quality standards, and developments in the renewable energy sector.
• Provide structured updates on key financial metrics and underlying assumptions in close collaboration with the Finance team.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process for projects within the development pipeline.
• Support the Development and Construction teams in preparing detailed business plans and monitoring project performance throughout the development and construction phases.
• Assist in preparing investment cases and supporting documentation for decision-making and investment approval processes.
• Perform post-investment analyses to assess investment outcomes and compare actual performance against initial assumptions.
• Conduct financial analyses on a broad range of topics related to the development and operation of wind energy assets.
• Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders and business partners in Flanders and Wallonia to support the growth of renewable energy projects.
• Monitor new financing mechanisms, regulatory developments, and subsidy schemes to help secure project funding and maximize project viability.
• Support the development of pricing strategies and revenue models for renewable energy assets, including Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs).

What we expect from you

• Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, or a related role.
• Experience in the energy sector or a capital-intensive industry is a plus.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Basic knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, R, or Python is a plus.
• Proficiency in Dutch, French and English.
• You will mainly be based in our Wavre office, with one working day per week in our Mechelen office.
