Job summary

H/Advisors Brussels is seeking a motivated Junior Consultant to join its EU Public Affairs team. This early-career role focuses on hands-on consultancy across public affairs, policy analysis, advocacy and strategic communications with a focus on tech, competition and financial services.

You will support day-to-day client work, monitor EU policy developments, and contribute to stakeholder engagement, media outreach and events in a fast-moving consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• One to three years of relevant professional experience in EU affairs, public affairs, advocacy, policy communications, government relations or a related field.
• Sound understanding of the EU institutions, legislative process and Brussels policy environment.
• Strong interest in European politics, policymaking, public affairs and strategic communications.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to turn complex policy developments into clear analysis.
• Strong research, analytical and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
• Proactive and collaborative approach, able to take ownership of defined tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery of EU public affairs and strategic communications accounts.
• Monitor EU policy and institutional developments and identify issues relevant to clients.
• Prepare concise client updates, briefings, policy notes and background materials.
• Conduct research on EU policy files and stakeholder positions.
• Build and maintain stakeholder maps covering EU institutions, associations, NGOs and think tanks.
• Assist with advocacy programs and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Help organise meetings, events, roundtables and conferences.
• Contribute to policy narratives, key messages and advocacy materials.
• Coordinate with colleagues across account teams for timely, high-quality work.
• Support new business and marketing activities including background research and pitch preparation.
